Greetings in Christ!
My name is Doriann Volmar, head teacher and Director at Messiah preschool. I have taught at Messiah Lutheran Preschool for twelve years. I am married with four children.
My mother, Mrs. K (Connie Kozlowski), founded Messiah Lutheran Preschool 20 years ago. I had the privilege of teaching with this amazing woman. She was hands down the best in her field! She taught workshops and educated other Early Childhood teachers all over Wisconsin. She had a passion for our Lord and she let His light shine in everything she did with the tender hearts she taught and everyone around her. I knew this is where I wanted to be, right alongside my mother, teaching and touching the lives of these young ones and sharing with them the greatness and never ending love of our Lord and Savior.
God decided my mother’s work here was done and called her home on May 17th, 2010 at the young age of 58 years old. Although my heart is filled with great sadness over the absence of my mother here on this earth, I realize that God used my mother to teach me what I needed to know to carry on this wonderful ministry. These past years as head teacher and Director at Messiah Lutheran Preschool has truly been a blessing! Although Mrs. K is greatly missed, it is up to us to use everything we have learned from this amazing woman of God and use it to glorify our Lord as we teach these precious little ones.
Here at Messiah Lutheran Preschool, we strive to achieve a balance of the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each child. Preschool is a place for growing, learning, understanding, curiosity, discovery and fun—all in a safe and loving environment. Our program has been established to provide a loving Christian environment in which children may have an opportunity to socially interact with others, share feelings and possessions, learn to cooperate, make a positive first break from home and develop self-esteem. We offer each child the opportunity to continue to develop a positive self-image and socialization skills; improve gross and small motor skills; learn to follow directions; participate in language experiences, activities with colors, shapes and numbers; and build on pre-kindergarten readiness skills needed for kindergarten.
We provide a loving Christian environment with emphasis on the developmental stages of the child. At Messiah Lutheran Preschool we desire to provide activities that are age-appropriate and nurture the spiritual, physical, mental and social development of each child. I’ve learned through my educational background that children learn as they play. Learning for children takes place when information is meaningful and is in the context of their experiences and development. Therefore, children learn best when provided with a variety of stimulating experiences in which they may freely interact.
Messiah Lutheran Preschool is strongly supported by the congregation of Messiah church both financially and spiritually. It is our mission to reach out into the community and make sure you are getting a high quality preschool at an affordable rate. We trust that God will provide to keep this incredible mission alive. If it is His will, it will be.
I have been blessed with two incredible teachers: Mrs. Rita Ericson and Mrs. Kathy Finch. Mrs. Kathy’s mother, Lorraine Kummers, taught with my mother since Messiah Lutheran Preschool’s doors opened 20 years ago. Mrs. Kummers was called home to be with our Lord just four days before my mother. Messiah Preschool is extremely blessed to have both of these hard working, caring, devoted and compassionate teachers.
